Your morning coffee could be doing more than just jolting you awake — it might actually be adding years to your life. A new scientific review suggests that regular coffee consumption could extend your healthy lifespan by nearly 2 years, challenging long-held beliefs about coffee’s impact on aging. Researchers in Portugal examined over 50 previous studies, and determined that moderate coffee drinking could be a simple yet effective way to support healthy aging. The research suggests that coffee may help reduce the risk of several chronic diseases, including cardiovascular issues, cancer, respiratory diseases, and cognitive decline. The benefit appears to be equally powerful among both women and men.

Tyler Perry kept his lips sealed when it came to pals Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. In a new interview, the movie producer shut down questions about assisting the royal couple flee the UK in 2020. When asked how he helped the duo prepare for their move, Perry — who lent the Duke and Duchess of Sussex his California mansion, private jet and security team – stated: “I didn’t. Meghan is from California. She knows California well. So, there was nothing to prepare them for.” He continued, sharing: “I will say this. What I learned about mentioning them — because there’s this insatiable appetite to know all about them — is that any question that is asked becomes the headline of anything I say.”

A pair of the iconic ruby slippers worn by Judy Garland in “The Wizard of Oz” sold for an astounding $28 million at auction Saturday. The price far outstripped Heritage Auctions estimate that the shoes would sell for around $3 million. Bidding for the fabled shoes far outpaced the initially estimated amount within seconds of the auction’s start, and tripled within minutes. Including the auction house’s fee, the unknown buyer will pay $32.5 million. In 2005, the slippers were stolen from the Judy Garland Museum by ex-mobster Terry Martin. Because they had been insured for $1 million, he had falsely assumed they were made from real rubies.

There’s a new “World’s Largest Building”. For 80 years, the US Pentagon held that title, but the newly-opened Surat Diamond Bourse in Gujarat, India, a massive diamond-cutting and trading hub, exceeds the Pentagon’s area of over 6.5 million square feet ft by almost 55,000. It is a is a massive office complex made up of 9 rectangular buildings interconnected through a central “spine”. The sprawling 15-story complex covers more than 35 acres of land and features over 4,700 office spaces and workshops, as well as 131 large elevators. Interestingly, creating a building that surpassed the Pentagon was never the plan; Indian architecture firm Morphogenesis simply struggled to meet the huge demand for space. A South Korean man has been sentenced to a suspended prison term for deliberately gaining more than 20kg (44 lbs.) to get out of a tougher role in the country’s military conscription system.
