Today, as online friendships sometimes seem more common than those in-person, new research is showing a surprising key to happiness for young adults: friendship satisfaction. A University of Arkansas study found that teenage friendships lay “essential” foundations for well-being in later life. It was determined that being accepted by one’s peers as a young teen, and close friendships in older teens, generally lead to low levels of social anxiety, and high life satisfaction in later life. The researchers explained that our relationships with others affect how we feel about ourselves, as well as our psychological well-being, and this is especially true in our teenage years.

Tom Cruise’s ‘mystery movie’ for Warner Bros is reportedly due to enter production in the UK soon, with principle photography beginning as soon as next month. Variety reports that the untitled movie, starring Cruise, is being directed by Mexican filmmaker Alejandro González Iñárritu. While the plot is currently unknown, Warner Bros. previously revealed Cruise would be leading a star-studded cast, which includes “Anatomy of a Fall” actress Sandra Hüller, “Breaking Bad” star Jesse Plemons, Emmy Award-winner John Goodman and “Your Honor” actor Michael Stuhlbarg. Cruise is currently filming the 8th “Mission: Impossible” movie, and is also working on the sequel to “Top Gun: Maverick”.

The Daywalker’ will have to wait a bit longer to have his time in the sun. Disney has removed the Marvel reboot of “Blade” — starring Mahershala Ali as the half-vampire — from its release calendar. It was dated for Nov. 7, 2025. Instead, “Predator: Badlands” has been moved to that date. Until now, it was unclear if the new, 6th Predator film would be for streaming or theatrical. Blade’s removal from the schedule was not a surprise, as it is currently without a director and has faced numerous delays.

While there are many so-called hangover cures out there, according to new research, it seems that exercise might be the key to avoiding those horrible mornings. The study, published in the journal Addictive Behaviours, involved 1,700 undergrad students who experienced at least one hangover per month. Results showed a correlation between regular exercise and reduced hangover severity. The researchers say they believe that physical activity may help alleviate hangover symptoms in the following ways…

Modulating pain response

Leading to better quality sleep

Improving metabolism, and

Reducing inflammation

Some Apple Watch users say they are amazed by their device’s ability to predict colds, flu, and even COVID, days before they hit. The astounding health assessments have been coming through the device’s “Vitals” app, since the rollout of the iOS 11 software update last month. Vitals takes critical metrics while a user is asleep, and if it detects readings outside the normal range, it sends a notification to the user. Many people shared their experiences, including a Reddit user who wrote: “The Vitals app knew I was sick 3 days before I did.” Another said it “detected a few things with my vitals days before I tested positive for COVID.”
