What are your favorite “small pleasures”? According to a survey, Americans’ top 3 ‘simple joys’ are, in order: Waking up after a good night’s sleep, catching up with an old friend (or loved one), and enjoying a cup of coffee. The survey of 2,000 adults found that next on the “joy” list, in order, are: watching their favorite show, the smell of freshly-brewed coffee, hearing their favorite song on the radio, the smell of freshly-baked cookies, and having someone say they were thinking about them. The top-10 was rounded out with waking up to the sun shining, and listening to the rain while sitting inside with a warm drink.

Millennials and Gen Z are much more likely to discuss their pay than older workers, according to a study. A survey carried out late last year found that 86% of Gen Zers are open to talking about their salaries, followed by 59% of Millennials. The numbers drop significantly for older workers, with only 40% of Gen X workers and 41% of Baby Boomers willing to discuss the subject.

The family of Tupac Shakur has hired New York attorney Alex Spiro to investigate an alleged link between the rapper’s death and Sean “Diddy” Combs. Shakur was 25 when he was shot while driving in Las Vegas in 1996. The rapper died 6 days later on Sept. 13. Former gang leader Duane Davis was arrested in September 2023 and charged with one count of murder with a deadly weapon. Davis, whose trial begins in March, has previously claimed that Combs offered him $1 million for a hit on Shakur.

Things did not go well for “Joker: Folie a Deux,” which saw its box office estimates slide throughout the weekend, as poor reviews came in from opening night audiences – and the lowest ever CinemaScore grade for a comic book film. The movie is currently estimated to have earned a paltry $40 million domestic opening weekend. Not only is that below the $50-55 million pre-weekend projections, it’s less than half the $96 million the first “Joker” took in. After earning an 0.5/5 from Thursday night moviegoers, “Folie a Deux” suffered a D grade from CinemaScore polls.

Joker” and “Joker: Folie รก Deux” director Todd Phillips has ruled out the possibility of doing either a third film or a solo ‘Harley Quinn’ film with Lady Gaga. Phillips helmed both DC movies with Joaquin Phoenix’s more down-to-Earth take on the legendary ‘Batman’ villain, but he has no intention of making any more. In an interview, he said: “I feel like my time in the DC Universe was these two films.” The critical response to the new Joker movie has been almost universally negative.

SCOOP OF THE DAY: Brought to you by BetterCreditCards.com

A study claims that middle aged women want to have sex up to 6 times a week.

A couple in Australia who misplaced their wedding video have had it returned after 57 years – thanks to Facebook. Terry Cheyne of Aberdeen, Scotland, was having his large collection of Super 8 films transferred to DVD this year, when he discovered footage of a wedding between 2 people he didn’t recognize. So, he posted an image from the film to a local Facebook group. Six months went by, and nothing. But then the pic was shared to a group for natives of Aberdeen’s Mastrick area and it came to the attention of Aileen Turnbull, who lives in Australia. She says she looked at it, turned to her husband and said: “There’s our wedding photograph.” The couple, who were married in 1967 in Scotland, later moved to Brisbane. They had only seen their wedding video once, before accidentally leaving it in a borrowed projector when it was returned to the owner. She messaged Terry, who turned out to be the nephew of the person with the projector all those years ago. Terry soon sent the Turnbulls, who are both 77, a digitized copy of their wedding video. Aileen said seeing the video after 57 years was “absolutely amazing – I still can’t believe it really.”

WEIRD NEWS: Brought to you by WeirdGiftOfTheDay.com

Some young people who are looking for work are now being very clear about their urgent need for a job, adorning their profiles with a new LinkedIn banner that reads “#Desperate.” The emblem, which serves as a frame around their profile pic, serves as an upfront notification that that person is probably willing to accept almost any position that the viewer might offer. Courtney Summer Myers, who created the emblem, points out that “LinkedIn is a platform that’s made for networking and connecting with people…So if you’re in need, why would you not ask for help?” Her original post launching her LinkedIn banner has garnered more than 400,000 reactions, but with mixed reviews. While some users say they “feel” for those who need to use it, others warn that employers may be wary “about hiring candidates who seem too eager.”
