Today we visit with Moon Unit Zappa, the daughter of musical visionary Frank Zappa, about EARTH TO MOON, her memoir of growing up in her unconventional household in 1970s Los Angeles, coming of age in the Hollywood Hills in the 1980s as the "Valley Girl," gaining momentum as an accidental VJ on a new network called MTV, and finding herself after losing her father, then her mother, and the testing of her most important relationships. Moon Unit Zappa was born in 1967 to legendary musician Frank Vincent Zappa and his second wife, Gail Zappa. At the age of fourteen, Moon Zappa appeared in Frank Zappa's career defining music video, "Valley Girl," which later helped jump-start Moon's own career. Since then, Moon has worked as an actress, writer, comedian, artist, businesswoman, and podcaster.

The key to unlocking your best self might not be hidden in a gym membership or a self-help book, but instead could be that adorable, panting 4-legged furball who begs for scraps at the dinner table. A poll of 2,000 dog owners found that 39% credit their dog with improving their emotional health, while over 25% report enhancements in their mental and physical health. How is it that our canine miracle workers provide these benefits? Dog owners said the secret lies in their uncanny ability to comfort us when we’re down (69%), stand by us through stressful times (60%), and even lend an ear when we need to vent (45%). 81% reported increased activity levels as a result of being a puppy parent, and 49% admitted that their furry friend is often the sole reason they get any exercise at all.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson is in no mood to make friends in the new trailer for “Kraven the Hunter”. The first new footage from the upcoming film in over a year sees Taylor-Johnson’s ‘Kraven’ kicking butt and taking names in various gruesome ways, including stabbing his adversaries in the neck, catching them in bear traps and pushing them through windows. As Johnny Cash’s ‘The Man Comes Around’ plays, Kraven transforms from your average hitman into the fur-wearing baddie fans of “Spider-Man” know him to be. Hitting theaters Dec. 13, the film, directed by J.C. Chandor, also stars Ariana DeBose, Fred Hechinger, Alessandro Nivola, Christopher Abbott, and Russell Crowe. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/bdec22xz

Full House” fans are in for a treat! Some of the stars of the beloved sitcom will be reuniting at 90’s Con Florida. The annual celebration of 1990s pop culture nostalgia is headed to Daytona Beach, next month, and the reunion will include on-screen siblings Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin — who starred as ‘D.J. Tanner’ and ‘Stephanie Tanner’ respectively — as well as ‘Kimmy Gibbler’ herself, Andrea Barber. The panel will also feature Dave Coulier, who played ‘Joey’. The stars — who also appeared together in the Netflix revival series “Fuller House” — are the latest addition to the stacked line-up for the fan event. Previously announced participants include castmembers of “90210” and “Charmed”, “7th Heaven”, and “Melrose Place”.

Recent research shows that married people tend to drink less.

The next internet buzzword very well could become…“un-alived”. Recently, some visitors to Seattle’s Museum of Pop Culture reported seeing something that surprised them. A placard on display in one of its exhibits described an iconic hometown hero’s death in the following way: “Kurt Cobain un-alived himself at 27.” “Unalived” is a common term on TikTok, first used as a way to get around censors on the app when discussing death. But it’s since taken on a euphemistic meaning offline, as a way to talk about death and especially suicide, while attempting to avoid the subject’s inherent discomfort.

WEIRD NEWS: Brought to you by WeirdGiftOfTheDay.com

On Sunday, a man attempted to set a new world record for completing a marathon in stiletto heels. Curtis Hargrove, who is a seasoned marathon runner, took on the 42km (26.2m) race wearing red high heels, to raise money and awareness for those experiencing domestic abuse. To beat the previous record, Hargrove had to finish the race in less than 5 hours, 13 minutes, and 27 seconds. He said he’d have to keep up a “nice, steady jog” to clinch the record. In 2012, he walked 300 kilometres in red stilettos in support of the YWCA. https://www.facebook.com/chargrove15/videos/2405002433169499

Canada’s largest annual fair, Toronto’s Canadian National Exhibition, got underway on Friday. And while some people go there for the rides and entertainment, others are just there for the food. Here’s a sampling of this year’s menu: (PART TWO)

Deep Fried Cheese Curds (Taylor’s Version): Deep fried cheese curds topped with icing, cotton candy, crunchy candy bits and edible glitter. Comes with a “Curd Lover” friendship bracelet. (We’re sure they have copyright clearance on the ‘Taylor’s Version’ business…)

Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab on a Stick: Chow down on the whole crab – doused in sriracha mayo.

Deep Fried Butter Chicken Lasagna: A deep-fried slab of 8-layer lasagna with mozzarella, parmesan and ground butter chicken, in a slightly spicy butter chicken and tomato sauce.

Mac & Cheetos Popsicle: Fried mac and cheese conveniently served on a stick, and livened up with a Cheetos coating.

Kool-Aid Fried Chicken: Day-Glo red, deep-fried and generously topped, it boldly ventures into unfamiliar territory.

Cheeseburger Spring Rolls: More portable than your typical burger, this hand-rolled snack is stuffed with ground beef, cheese and dill pickles.

Spammy Tots: Features crispy sushi rice tots splashed with Aloha Shoyu soy sauce and topped with Spam fries, nori flakes, furikake and spicy mayo.

Wasabi Ice Cream: Wasabi-flavored ice cream topped with crunchy orange sugar pearls and nori, served in a charcoal cone.
