Today we visit with Tom Wopat (Luke fro the Dukes of Hazzard) It's been several decades since the General Lee first left the ground, sky-rocketing Tom Wopat and co-star John Schneider to instant Dukes of Hazzard stardom. In the 40+ years since, Wopat has been blessed with a multifaceted career that has ranged from starring roles on Broadway, various television appearances, singing in such venues as The Ol' Opera, Carnegie Hall, and the Hollywood Bowl, to a featured role in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained. More recently Wopat released a new recording project, an album entitled Simple Man, a 13 song collection that is his 13th solo album.

Also recently released are the second and third installments of the County Line movie trilogy, County Line: All In & County Line: No Fear, available now on the INSP Network. Wopat also recently starred on the TV series The Blacklist, which features James Spader, as he quipped "I enjoy keeping a lot of balls in the air." Tom was a staple on the Broadway stage for 35 years, garnering a pair of Tony award nominations along the way. Long known for his musical leading man abilities, Wopat also was critically acclaimed for his dramatic work in The Trip to Bountiful and Glenngary Glenn Ross. But currently it's his work in the studio and on the road with some of the most talented musicians in the world that has provided Tom the most satisfaction. Stats show that trust in politicians has never been lower. And if you pay attention, there’s little wonder why. People simply don’t feel they can believe what many politicians are saying. And in Wales, they’re trying to do something about it. A proposal before parliament there is seeking to introduce a law that, if passed, would make Wales the first country in the world to criminalize politicians who lie. Under the proposal, it would be a criminal offense for a member of the Senedd parliament, or a candidate for election, to willfully make or publish a statement that is known to be false or deceptive. Proceedings would have to be brought within 6 months from the date on which the statement was made. The proposed punishment isn’t as bad as some would like, however: Being prosecuted for lying would disqualify a person from being a Senedd member.

Pregnancy brings about a number of physical changes – but one you might not be aware of is known as “pregnancy nose”. It involves a noticeable widening of a pregnant woman’s nose, a change that can be startling and often unexpected. The condition is typically due to the increase in blood flow and hormonal changes in a pregnant woman, which can cause the blood vessels to expand. While pregnancy nose isn’t as common as food cravings or morning sickness, experts say it’s not entirely rare, and the conversation around it is gradually increasing on social media.

Gird your loins. ‘Miranda Priestly’ is set to deliver more withering glances in a sequel to “The Devil Wears Prada.” Disney is developing a follow-up to the hit 2006 movie starring Meryl Streep as the high-powered fashion magazine editor from hell, with Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt as her harried assistants. The original film’s screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna is in talks to return to pen the next chapter. Who from the original cast will return is not clear, but the storyline reportedly follows Priestly as she navigates her career amid the decline of traditional magazine publishing, and faces off against Blunt’s character, now a high-powered executive with advertising dollars that Priestly desperately needs.

Gru’ and the Minions have continued their box office reign, topping newcomers “Longlegs” and “Fly Me to the Moon.” “Despicable Me 4” retained its #1 spot, with an estimated weekend take of $44.7 million, surpassing $200 million at the domestic box office. “Longlegs”, starring Nicholas Cage, crept its way to a $22.6 million opening weekend. And “Fly Me to the Moon”, the romantic comedy led by Channing Tatum and Scarlett Johansson, earned a projected $10 million weekend debut, good for #5.

Samsung has launched its latest AI-enabled wearable device – a smart ring that can help monitor your health. Last week, the company revealed the Galaxy Ring, priced at $400, as well as its latest smart watch, can both use AI to analyze health data collected from the person wearing the devices to provide customized assessments of their well-being through an “energy score” that will deliver ratings on a one to 100 scale. They can also make recommendations to the wearer, like a “virtual fitness couch”. And while most of the info will be collected on the devices themselves, some data will need to be sent to “data centers”, which Samsung promises will be protected like a virtual Fort Knox. And if you’re interested in the possibilities that something like a smart ring can present, here’s some good news. Owning one won’t mean you have another device to recharge every night: The new Galaxy Ring is equipped with a battery that can last 6-7 days before needing a charge.

Why not? If Costco can sell coffins, they might as well sell these things too. A recent viral Instagram post shows what is being called the bulk retailer’s “Apocalypse Dinner Kit”, containing food that supposedly will last for 25 years, in case of, well, you know, a doomsday event that you happen to survive. I’m not sure if this is a new thing at Costco, but influencer ‘Pressure Luck’ has just discovered it in his clip. Footage shows him examining the contents of the “Emergency Food Supply Variety Pack”, which comes in a black bucket with a red lid. Inside are 150 servings of freeze-dried food, including pasta alfredo, cheesy macaroni, teriyaki rice, creamy pasta and vegetables, potato pot pie, tomato basil soup with pasta, chicken noodle soup, brown sugar and maple multi-grain, and apple cinnamon cereal. Also in there: crunchy granola, white rice, vanilla pudding, whey milk alternative, and an orange drink. Just add water, and voila! You’ve got a total of 15,280 calories — and you’re all set for when disaster hits. How much? Just $99. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/22vysats

EXTREMELY RARE THINGS THAT PEOPLE THINK ARE COMMON:

Dying from a lightning strike: The chances of lightning hitting you are one in 1.1 million within any given year, and only about 10% of lightning strikes are fatal.

CPR being successful: Sad, but true. When given by a non-professional, CPR helps only in 10-12% of cardiac arrest cases. When done by pros, the success rate is still less than 25%.
❑ Making it big on social media: While it seems like any jerk can go viral by doing something stupid (or smart) and become a social media sensation, for every star, there are thousands and thousands of people who fail to catch on.

Being audited: 60% of us say they fear getting audited. But in the US, only about 0.3% of taxpayers face an audit from the IRS each year. More among the $10 million-plus earners.

Having a photographic memory: Really, a photographic memory doesn’t exist in the way most people imagine it. While basically no one can memorize a textbook by glancing at it for a few seconds, some are able to recall an image in vivid detail after seeing it.
