STUDIES & SUCH: Brought to you by BetterCreditCards.com
Of course, it’s pretty obvious that having tension in your relationship can be a stressful thing. But according to researchers at Binghamton University, there’s a connection between stress and having an unsupportive partner, too. And that could affect your health. In their study, the researchers found that wives who received support “more negatively” (e.g., rejecting help) felt less understood, validated and cared for by a partner, and that had a ‘stress-amplifying’ effect, meaning levels of the stress hormone cortisol increased. High levels cortisol can lead to increased risks of obesity, cancer, and heart disease, and accelerated aging of the immune system. On a happier note, those who said their partner showed positive support skills, showed lower stress levels and felt more understood, validated and cared for.

has been lifted for the 2024 Paris Olympics, and the Olympic village,
where the athletes stay, will be stocked with 300,000 condoms. That’s
right. 300,000 condoms for 14,250 athletes…who will be there for 17

“The Talk” is coming to an end: CBS revealed on Friday that its daytime talk show has been picked up for a 15th and final season, and will wrap its run in December. A statement says: “The Talk broke new ground when it launched 14 years ago by returning daytime talk to CBS with a refreshing and award-winning format…For the final season, we plan to celebrate the show and give it the proper sendoff it deserves.” No decisions have been made about how CBS will fill the daytime time slot after December.
The debut of the trailer for the upcoming movie Joker: Folie à Deux was more than Kenough to beat “Barbie”. Numbers for the trailer were bigger than that of the first Barbie trailer, drawing more than 167 million views in its first 24 hours. The night it premiered, it was the #1 trending video on YouTube, and in just 2 days, it’s racked up more than 20 million views on that platform alone. On X, 10 terms related to the movie were trending the night of the launch, including Lady Gaga and her character, ‘Harley Quinn’. But Joker wasn’t able to beat the record holder, Marvel’s “Deadpool and Wolverine”, which collected 365 million views. Earlier this year. “Joker: Folie à Deux” comes out Oct. 4.
The 30th anniversary of the original animated film version of “The Lion King” will be celebrated at the Hollywood Bowl next month with a live-to-film concert and screening that will include cast members from both the movie and theatrical versions — plus other stars — including Jeremy Irons, Nathan Lane, Billy Eichner, Ernie Sabella, Jason Weaver and Bradley GIbson. The shows will take place at the Bowl May 24-25, featuring a full orchestra performing the Oscar-winning score. Cast members who’ll sing the musical numbers written for the film by Elton John and Tim Rice will be drawn from the hit 1998 Broadway adaptation and the 2019 movie remake, as well as the initial film. More celeb performers will be announced.

A homeowner in Florida got the surprise of a lifetime when police showed up at his door. In late March, delivery driver Richard Robertson, who was wanted on felony charges, was spotted by Titusville cops. After arresting the suspect, officers decided to fulfill his pending delivery order. Joe Neu posted ring camera footage of police appearing at his door. It shows an officer explaining: “Your driver got arrested, so we’re delivering your groceries.” Neu’s wife responds: “Wow, I haven’t had that before,” which makes the officer smile and say, “No, but we didn’t want your groceries to go to waste.” After 2 cops carry the groceries inside the home, the resident is heard joking: “I’ll make sure you get his tip.” LINK: https://tinyurl.com/ymbku6tc

To combat the growing problem of shoplifting, an Australian supermarket chain is putting GPS locators…on meat. Drakes has become so exasperated with meat theft that it is conducting a trial where cuts of expensive meat are put into transparent cases fitted with GPS locators that allow the product to be tracked. The polpolycarbonate cases are usually used to prevent theft of high-priced items in supermarkets, but Drakes is the first in Australia to use them on meat. The store says it is only using the GPS locators on meat that costs $50-$100 per kilo, “the highest-end meat” they offer. Drakes believes that its expensive meat is often targeted by criminals, who sell it for drugs and other goods.
