Stats show that kids ask their parents an average of 11 questions each day. So, you know that some of them are going to be cute, some will be funny…and some will be difficult to answer. A new poll of 2,000 parents of kids 6 and younger found that the most-commonly asked question among young children is – you guessed – “What?” 37% o parents put that at #1, followed by “When?” (22%), and “Why?” (11%). When asked about the most interesting question their child has ever asked, parents mentioned: “Why is the sky so high?” and “Why can fish keep their eyes open in water?” Parents said they can confidently answer only 42% of their child’s questions.
These are The Topics Kids Ask the Most Questions About:
• The world around them (animals/nature, current events, home experiences) – 76%
• School-related (history, math, reading, writing, science) – 64%
• Family-related (Parents/caregivers/siblings) – 62%
• Safety – 39%
• Relationships/friendships – 35%
• Daily experiences (food, clothing, sleep, routines) – 30%
• Future-facing (careers, money, dreams) – 29%
• Entertainment (TV, movies, music, sports) – 20%

If
you deal with sleep issues (and about 40% of us do, according to
stats), then you’ll know that the next day can be a particular kind
of struggle, too. Whether you’re feeling sluggish, permanently
hungry, or suffering with brain fog, it’s going to be a rough day
when you’re running on low Zs. But a new study by the University of
Portsmouth might have the answer. Scientists there found that doing
20 minutes of moderate intensity cardio (cycling, in this case) can
improve cognitive performance the day after a sleepless night.
Researcher Dr. Joe Costello concluded: “We know from existing
research that exercise improves or maintains our cognitive
performance. But this is the first study to suggest it also improves
cognitive performance after both full and partial sleep deprivation.”
Other activities that may help you deal with lack of sleep include
hiking, swimming, dancing, brisk walking, water aerobics,
rollerblading or pushing a lawn mower. And yes, even more rigorous
forms of gardening.

Kim
Kardashian has still not apologized to Taylor Swift over the infamous
phone call she leaked, according to a report. This week, Swift put
Kimmy K. on blast in her Time “Person of the Year” cover story
for leaking an edited private phone call between Swift and Kanye West
over 7 years ago. And sources told TMZ that Kardashian has still not
said “sorry”. Insiders told the outlet that Swift would accept a
public apology from Kardashian. Their bad blood stems from the MTV
Video Music Awards in 2009 when Taylor won Best Female Music Video
and West jumped on stage to say Beyoncé should have won. It was was
worsened later when West included Swift’s name in the explicit
lyrics to his hit ‘Famous’.
“Killers of the Flower Moon” has been named the best film of 2023 by the National Board of Review, a New York-based group of film professionals and academics. The film also won NBR’s Best Director prize for Martin Scorsese, while Lily Gladstone picked up the Best Actress award and Rodrigo Prieto took the Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography award for “Killers of the Flower Moon” and “Barbie.” Alexander Payne’s “The Holdovers” won 3 awards, picking up prizes for lead Paul Giamatti, supporting actress Da’Vine Joy Randolph and the original screenplay.
“Deadpool 3” has resumed filming now that the actors strike has ended, and several photos have already leaked from set. And although this is a hazard of filming a big-budget superhero film, star Ryan Reynolds is asking websites to please preserve his film’s secret moments. On his Instagram Story, Reynolds posted: “Surprises are part of the magic of theatrical movies. It’s important for us to shoot the new ‘Deadpool’ film in real, natural environments…Telephoto lenses continue to spoil surprises and create a difficult situation for everyone.” Leaks this week seemed to show that “X-Men” villain ‘Sabretooth’ is returning to fight ‘Deadpool’’ and ‘Wolverine’. SCOOP OF THE DAY: Brought to you by BetterCreditCards.com
A 92-year-old just became the oldest person to hike the Grand Canyon rim-to-rim.
A report claims that marijuana users have abnormally low blood flow to the brain.
Conversations between Gen Z and millennials are dominated by slang, even when discussing serious topics such as mental health, and this worries experts. Take “menty b,” for instance: Social media users have come to use the phrase to describe varying levels of a “mental breakdown,” whether real or exaggerated. Others make reference to taking a “grippy sock vacation”. That’s refers to a stay in a psychiatric hospital, where patients are often given grippy socks. Also in recent years, “stressy depressy,” short for stressed and depressed, has crept into the vernacular, and so has the word “suey,” which means for suicidal. On one hand, using these terms can help destigmatize mental illness, making light of a usually dark circumstances. On the other, this language could be a way for some to distance themselves from the experience by using humor, or a coping mechanism used instead of seeking help, some experts say.

A North Carolina woman loves Costco so much that she decided to celebrate her birthday there. Madison Stimmel said that she didn’t want to do anything ‘big or fancy’ for her birthday this year, and the idea of having a party at Costco “just popped” into her head. So, she had a small party in the wholesale warehouse’s food court alongside 6 of her family members. And everyone wore matching Costco sweatshirts – as can be seen in a now-viral TikTok video. She and her family ordered 5 hot dogs, one chicken bake, one rotisserie chicken Caesar salad, a whole cheese pizza, and several soda cups — for a grand total of $30.88. While the gang was enjoying their meal, staff members surprised her with a birthday cake – and a song. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/59vf8ya2
