A
Phoenix man has been arrested on multiple charges after police say he
drove under the influence of alcohol in a cemetery, hitting four
cars, striking one pedestrian and running over a tombstone. His
girlfriend and three children were in the car at the time. The
incident happened on Sunday afternoon at the Greenwood Memory Lawn
Cemetery. Police received a call about an injury accident at the
property. When officers arrived and located the suspect, 26-year-old
Rafael Rodarte, they say he began to vomit as they approached him.
When asked why he was throwing up, police say Rodarte told the
officers he had been “drinking earlier.” Rodarte has been booked
into the Fourth Avenue Jail. He faces charges of aggravated criminal
damage, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, child abuse,
endangerment, DUI, and aggravated DUI.(https://bit.ly/2HPUiAY)

Gun
owners know about keeping their weapons away from children. But dogs?
Well, that’s also a good idea too, as a Plano man found out last
weekend. “Imagine having your pistol tucked inside your waistband
and while picking up your dog, a paw gets lodged in the trigger and
fires the weapon, sending a bullet into and through your thigh. Well,
that happened here in Plano,” according to a post on the police
department’s Facebook page. The man’s injury was not
life-threatening. “Fortunately, it was just a through and through
shot — it didn’t hit a main artery or anything,” Plano police
officer David Tilley said in a phone interview. “He took himself to
the hospital and he’s fine.” The incident led Plano police to
issue tips for the safe and responsible use of
firearms.(https://bit.ly/3l7aMTy)

Police
charged a Youngstown, Ohio woman with child endangerment after her
child grabbed a gun from inside her purse and fired a shot inside a
Sam’s Club store. The shooting occurred Saturday at the Sam’s
Club in Boardman, Ohio. According to the police report, 31-year-old
Amanda Karr told officers that her 7-year-old child was in the bottom
of the shopping cart with her purse that contained the gun in a
concealed compartment. She said she looked away for a short time,
heard the boom and realized her child had pulled the gun out of her
purse, released the safety, and pulled the trigger. Police confirmed
Karr does have a concealed carry permit. Although no one was struck
by a bullet, both a store employee and a customer complained of leg
pain following the shot, and officers discovered both bullet
fragments and pieces of plastic believed to be from a shopping cart
scattered around the area. (https://bit.ly/35TMPZC)
