An Iowa man was arrested by a sheriff's deputy on Monday morning after he was stopped for allegedly watching a TV show while driving. 18-year-old Griffen Vogelgesang-Maurer of Iowa City, was arrested and charged with first-offense operating while under the influence and first-offense possession of marijuana. Both charges are classified as serious misdemeanors. At around 7:11 a.m. on Monday, November 18th, a Johnson County Sheriff's Office deputy said he spotted Vogelgesang-Maurer watching South Park on his smartphone while driving, leading to him pulling his 2003 Oldsmobile Alero near an intersection. The deputy stated in a criminal complaint that the vehicle Vogelgesang-Maurer was driving smelled strongly of marijuana. He allegedly admitted to recently smoking and handed over the drug along with a pipe and a grinder. He showed signs of impairment during field sobriety tests and submitted to a breath test which registered a .00 BAC, leading to the deputy to believe that he was just under the influence of marijuana.(https://bit.ly/2KDiSms)

WEIRD NEWS: Brought to you by WeirdGiftOfTheDay.com
A woman who bought a baby shower gift at a Florida Goodwill store was shocked when the father-to-be opened the box and found a loaded semi-automatic rifle inside. Veronica Alvarez-Rodriguez told the Northwest Florida Daily News that she and her husband stopped by the store in Valparaiso on Sunday as they were heading to a friend’s baby shower. She found a Baby Einstein’s bouncer that was unopened and appeared to be brand new for $9.99. “It was like the perfect gift for the baby shower,” Alvarez-Rodriguez said. The father-to-be thought so too. He shouted, “You guys got me a gun!” Alvarez-Rodriguez said. While some of the guests laughed, Alvarez-Rodriguez said she and her husband were shocked. They called the Crestview Police Department. Officers came to the party and checked the couple’s identifications to make sure they weren’t convicted felons. The father-to-be turned the gun over to police and the incident remains under investigation. (https://bit.ly/33OMx2U)

Police say that a man was arrested in North Carolina after being caught naked in a parking lot full of Black Friday shoppers. A police officer was patrolling the Kohl’s parking lot Friday afternoon when he smelled weed coming from a row of cars and saw one that had its windows down. As he approached the car, he saw a naked man sitting inside. The officer ordered the man, 28-year-old Tylik Little from Virginia, to get dressed and get out of the car, but he drove off and went “behind and between” nearby buildings. He was stopped soon after and taken into custody in pants and a shirt. Officials believe the officer was the only one who “observed the man’s lewd behavior” despite the fact the parking lot was “crowded with Black Friday shoppers.” Police say they are unsure why the man was sitting in the parking lot naked. Little was charged with indecent exposure, resisting arrest, and marijuana possession and was “served an outstanding warrant for assault on a female.” He is being held in the Wake County Detention Center.
