Dear
John,
I'm
struggling with a decision and could use some professional advice.
I've been married for 15 years. We have two children and have just
grown apart. There's no physical abuse. Neither of us have cheated.
We've just grown apart. I've been thinking that it's important to
stay together for the sake of my kids, but should I teach them that a
loveless marriage is OK? What advice do you have for me?

A
booze-fueled argument between long-time lovers prompted a South
Peoria woman to allegedly tear off her boyfriend’s colostomy bag.
At 7:00 p.m. on Monday, Peoria police were summoned by a 66-year-old
resident of West Malone Street. According to a police report, he said
he has been dating his 54-year-old girlfriend for twenty years and
they live at the same address. The report stated, “She got mad at
him because he was drunk.” To police, the girlfriend confirmed her
irritation with his inebriation, as he had returned home intoxicated.
After his arrival, he had shots of Fireball Cinnamon Whisky, and she
decided to join him. The report did not specify the number of shots
by either. However, the liquor apparently did not soothe her
agitation. According to the boyfriend, she “ripped off” his
colostomy bag “because she knows it is his weak spot.” She was
booked into the Peoria County Jail on a charge of domestic battery.

After Teddy Bears, Toy Companies Tried to Create a William Taft Animal. President Teddy Roosevelt’s legacy includes that he inspired the beloved and ubiquitous teddy bear toy. Trying to replicate its success, a toy company created “Billy Possum,” related to the marsupial that was served at a banquet following his election. It served as an anti-Teddy symbol, featuring in songs, picture books, and more—but it never took off like the bear.

A Publix in Land O’Lakes, Florida became a crime scene after a shopper accidentally discharged a gun. According to a Facebook post from the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, Publix provided surveillance video showing how a man got shot at the cash register. Investigators say the video shows the victim checking out at the cash register with his wife, a concealed carry permit holder. His wife had a “Derringer 2-shot” handgun in her purse, and she placed the purse on the counter. The bag fell on the floor and the gun went off. The victim “immediately flinched” and fell to the ground. The agency’s post states, “Through the investigation, it appears that the gun fired when the purse fell to the ground and a bullet struck the victims lower right shin. The gun was located inside the wife’s purse and a hole was discovered in the side of the purse.” (https://hrld.us/2VaHAxd)

A
70-year-old Florida motorist was arrested Tuesday after an off-duty
cop spotted the suspect driving while “sitting on the sunroof” of
his Cadillac sedan. Leonard Olaf Olsen, was traveling on Interstate 4
when the sheriff’s deputy spotted him recklessly driving his
vehicle. The deputy, who recorded Olsen in action, estimated that the
Cadillac reached speeds in excess of 100 mph. After the deputy called
9-1-1, Florida Highway Patrol officers pulled Olsen over on a
Lakeland roadway. He was alone in the vehicle. After initially
claiming not to recall being atop the sunroof, Olsen copped to the
dangerous driving, which, he said, occurred while the car was on
cruise control. Olsen stated, “The car drives itself and has a
gigantic computer in it. I thought it would be a nice way to praise
God for a minute, and that's what I did.” Olsen was booked into the
Polk County lockup on a misdemeanor reckless driving charge. Jail
records show that he is also being held on four felonies related to
an alleged domestic battery, but court records offer no details of
those charges. (https://bit.ly/2Jzee9t)
